Pernahkah anda melihat notifikasi “password must contain an uppercase letter” ketika salah memasukkan sandi/membuat sandi?. Password must contain an uppercase letter artinya adalah anda harus memasukkan sandi dengan menggunakan minimal 1 huruf besar/huruf kapital.
Nah, jadi uppercase letter ini adalah huruf besar/huruf kapital. Anda harus mengingat hal ini, karena hampir semua pembuatan akun, termasuk akun google membutuhkan Uppercase letter ini. Fungsinya yakni untuk memperkuat sandi agar tidak mudah ditebak dan menghindari cyber crime.
Apa Itu Lowercase?
Mungkin melihat dari pengertian uppercase, anda sudah bisa menentukan apa itu lowercase. Iya, lowercase adalah huruf kecil atau huruf biasa. Jadi, semua kata dalam lowercase adalah huruf kecil dan tidak ada huruf besarnya. Dan jika ada salah satu huruf besar atau kapital, itu tidak bisa dikatakan lowercase.
Jadi, anda sudah tidak perlu bingung lagi untuk menggunakan lowercase. Karena pada umumnya kita mengetik di komputer, keyboard secara default berada dalam posisi lowercase, kecuali tombol Caps Lock Aktif. Jika tombol caps lock aktif, maka keyboard masih tetap pada posisi uppercase.
Tambahan : Propercase
Propercase adalah karakter gabungan antara karakter uppercase dan lowercase. Jadi, jika uppercase memiliki kata “DEWA ILMU”, lowercase “dewa ilmu”, maka untuk propercase yakni “Dewa Ilmu”. Nah, jenis karakter gabungan inilah yang cocok digunakan sebagai sandi pada akun google atau akun penting lainnya.
Sedangkan untuk tanda seperti !, @, #, $, %, dan lainnya masih termasuk dalam Uppercase. Namun, untuk penggunaan pada sandi tidak diperbolehkan menggunakan tanda-tanda seperti itu. Jadi, anda hanya bisa menggunakan huruf propercase/campuran antara uppercase dan lowercase.
